Conference Topics

This year's conference will focus on (but is not limited to) Statistical modeling in the era of data science. Submissions on the following topics are encouraged:

Keynote Lecture

This year, we are extremely fortunate to have Professor Kosuke Imai from the Department of Politics at Princeton University as our keynote speaker. Professor Imai is an entertaining and engaging speaker who has made important contributions to causal inference, survey methodology, and applications of Bayesian statistical methods to social science research. Professor Imai's presentation, entitled "A New Automated Redistricting Simulator Using Markov Chain Monte Carlo", is sure to be an engaging and unique experience!

Poster Session & Banquet

This year, to encourage more interaction among conference attendees, we will have a conference banquet on Friday April 10th, 2015. The poster presentations will be given during the cocktail hour before dinner beginning at 6:00pm. Banquet registration is $40 for ASA members, $50 for nonmembers, and $15 for students and AP teachers (regardless of ASA membership). The banquet will be at Mary Jemison Dining Hall with cocktails from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and dinner from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

The conference will primarily be held in Newton Lecture Hall (Building 3) and the Integrated Science Center (Building 4) as shown on the map. The registration desk will be in Building 4 as you enter from the College Green entrance (South) beginning at 8:30 A.M.. Please stop by to pick up your folders and name tags. Coffee and danish will be available by 8:30 A.M., and a boxed lunch will be available around noon. Both are included in the registration fee. Walk-ins are welcome, but you must pay the registration fee with a check. Cash and credit cards will not be accepted.

Please use Parking Lots A, C, or L on the campus map. Handicap parking is available in A lot, and in the Visitor's loop. Newton hall has wheel chair access, and those in need may be dropped off at Newton from the north side of Newton, on University Drive.

Accomodations

Big Tree Inn, Hampton Inn, & Quality Inn are all in close proximity to the SUNY Geneseo campus. You may call and request a discount for the Geneseo UP-STAT 2015 Conference when booking. More detailed information will follow shortly.
